A group of 8 of us will be leaving for a remote village in western Kenya in November 2011. We will volunteer at the following organizations:
Vihiga Children's School: teaching school subjects to children ages 5 to 16 as well as giving oral hygiene instructions.
Kipepeo Community Empowerment Program: microfinance seminars, working with street orphans, visiting hospitals, helping at orphanages
We will be personally funding our own costs. All fund-raising efforts will go 100% to the different organizations we will be volunteering at in a self-sustaining capacity. The largest project we want to implement is called 'Project Kenya: Lunch For Life' which is a self-sustaining lunch program for the children at the school.
